PROF GODWIN ONU is back,CBT Continues

The Rector, Federal Polytechnic Oko, Prof Godwin Onu is back to his seat after a program with the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), an apex centre of policy, research and reflection for a better Nigerian and human society.
In his address on Thursday Morning, the Rector thanked the Staff of the Institution for their wonderful performance while he was away. While advocating them to use their time for writing unnecessary petitions for academic Journals, he advised the Staff to stay clear of hate speeches and focus rather on positive delivery in their points of duties. He also pleaded with the Staff to work in synchrony with the Management and Governing Council.
As per Students’ welfare, he encouraged the Staff to treat the students of the Polytechnic with kindness and love as they were the reason why the Staff exist. His words
“I am back and back for good. I have been on study leave for months now and I just passed out successfully from NIPSS some days back. Many of you might be surprised to see me again. Some already rumored I have left the school while some betted that I would still come back. Whichever way, I have come back for good. Let us all embrace peace and move the Institution forward. There is no gain in fighting and as such I extend my arms of friendship to all of you. I implore you to work with the Management and Governing Council of the Institution. Use your time for writing unnecessary petitions to write academic journals and articles. As for our students, I plead with you to treat them with kindness. They are our children and the reason why we are here. So let us love them and take them as our own children especially when they meet us in our various offices.”
The jubilant Staff and gatecrashing Students were seen in ovation as he unleashed his “mni” prowess and being one out of the two selected Federal Polytechnic representatives in Nigeria. He ended by wishing all Staff a happy XMAS Celebration ahead.
In reaction, Dr. Chioma Awuzie on behalf of the entire Staff welcomed and thanked the Rector immensely for deeming it appropriate to embrace the Staff after his resumption. She promised that the Staff would embrace Peace and shun malicious acts that would not augur well for the Institution.
The Nigerian Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) was established and commissioned on Monday, September 3rd, 1979 via a military decree number 20 of 1st January, 1979.
One of the reasons the then military Government of chief Olusegun Obasanjo decided to establish the NIPSS was to get first rate public servants and other professionals in the public service of the country like the Army, the Navy, the Air force, the Police Force, organised private sector (OPS) like labour and statutory corporations that were not purely civil service establishments.
Criteria for establishing the Nigeria Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies at Kuru, near Jos was to have young men and women who might likely make it to the peak of their respective careers to be sent to or assembled at the coolest and quietest part of the Country for a period of six to nine months to consider the challenges facing Nigeria and proffer solutions.
Since NIPSS establishment from 1979 till date, it has not graduated more than 2000 Professionals because of its demanding criteria; and this is why Prof.Godwin Onu should be congratulated beyond measures for proving his leadership distinctions and developmental endowments both in Federal Polytechnic Oko and beyond.
Congrats, and Welcome Back Prof. Godwin Onu (Ph.D, JP, FCIDA, HFIC,PHF,KSJ and “mni”)
